I went to class tonight from 8:30-9:30pm.  This morning was a 90-minute class and I just get too fearful that I am going to get a headache.  Actually, the owner of the studio, who I have been e-mailing with today (I used to exchange yoga for working there – so I know her on a different level) asked me how my breathing was and said that my headache could be due to breathing!  WHAT?!  That seems sooo crazy.  Anyone know.  I mean, I understand, maybe how I could get a headache from holding my breath – but I DON’T DO THAT – it’s more like catching my breath sometimes. 

So I went for a 2.2 mile run about 45 minutes before class started, because the class is called, “Gentle Hatha” – so I’m thinking it’ll be a lot of good Yoga stretching – perfect for after a run.  It did have some great stretching towards the end, but Maria (who also teaches tomorrow morning’s 6:20am – which I will be attending) didn’t keep this class gentle, well, in my terms of gentle.  We must have stood in warrior pose for 10 minutes (on each leg!) – my thigh cramped a billion times and I felt like I was walking with two cinder blocks on my legs!

I did like it though -it was challenging.  I liked the offering of different postures to stretch and work things that I don’t work with Bikram yoga poses.

There was only Maria, another lady and me in the class – which is probably the reason that Mary, studio owner, is going to stop the class at the end of August.  I will try and make it the rest of August though as if tonight was any indication, I need the help, that’s for sure.

One thing I didn’t like is that we ended up not always facing the mirror – so in some of the inversion postures, I ended up looking at my ass and vag – not my idea of good times.  Not to mention that it seems like all the effort I am making with these classes and running seems null and void when it comes to slimming my frame.  FATTY!

I’ve gotta get in the shower and get to bed – my next yoga class is in 8 hours!
