Standing Separate Leg Stretching Pose or Dandayamana-Bibhaktapada-Paschimotthanasana 8/10/10

Standing Separate Leg Stretching Pose or Dandayamana-Bibhaktapada-Paschimotthanasana 8/10/10

Charlie Horse Central is what you could have called my body during yoga today.  Man, I must have been dehydrated to get so many charlie horses.

I went to the 4:30pm class and while it is hard to break away from what you’re doing in the middle of the day, there is the benefit of not being as tight as I am in the morning and therefore, I feel a greater stretch and feel like I am not as much as a loser as I have been.

Today’s pose is Standing Separate Leg Stretching Pose or Dandayamana-Bibhaktapada-Paschimotthanasana.  I am starting to feel really good in this pose – especially in the afternoons.  I can finally get my forehead to the ground again – but my right hamstring still hurts – that’s for sure.  I have to remember to keep my thighs flexed, so that I don’t re-injure my hamstring.  I like this inversion posture because there aren’t many inversion poses of the Bikram yoga postures.

I meant to go to the 6:30am class today, but didn’t make it.  So I think I will shoot for two classes on Friday – the quick and easy one in the morning and maybe the 5pm one.  I will also attend tomorrow morning’s.

Namaste.

Standing Separate Leg Stretching Pose

Standing Separate Leg Stretching Pose 5/12/10

I did go to class last Friday, but didn’t write about it yet.  Sometimes I wonder what I was thinking about doing this blog because I already write a ton on a daily basis and really, if I would have committed to going to yoga and not have worried about the writing, then that would have worked out great as well.

I have not gone this week yet – am planning on going Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Had my knee checked out yesterday.  Turns out the underside of my knee cap is bruised.  Since I cannot take anti-inflammatory medication, there is not much I can do rather than wait it out and of course, the doc recommneded walking to be the best exercise as that would put the least about of strain on it.

So I figured I would take Monday and Tuesday off of Yoga and then I will do three days this week and possibly 4-5 next week.

Today’s pose is Standing Separate Leg Stretching Pose or Dandayamana-Bibhaktapada-Paschimotthanasana.  Now that my hamstring is getting better, this pose is coming easier to me again.  Which is delightful.  I love this one when I am not hurting.

Hopefully I will post on time tomorrow.  Namaste.
